Hello! We are finally on our way to the Xscapers 2019 Annual Bash in Lake Havasu, Arizona. We left Wichita, Kansas on Monday January 7th. We stopped for the night in a small town called Montezuma, Kansas which is about 3 hours west of Wichita. The park we stopped at is a small RV park called Prairie Wind RV Park, which is operated by the City of Montezuma. The park contains 5 pull through sites with full hookups. There is a self-pay kiosk and the nightly fee is $10. Quite a bargain considering the sites have 20/30/50 AMP service, water, and sewer. Each site also has a concrete picnic table and patio. We were the only RV in the park that night and we were amazed at how quiet it was considering its close proximity to Highway 56.
Just outside of Montezuma is the largest Wind Farm in Kansas . The Gray County Wind Farm boasts 170 wind turbines producing 112 megawatts. This particular site was selected for a wind farm due to its average wind speed of 20 mph.
