The trek to the Xscapers 2019 Bash continues. Today we are headed to Golden Valley, Arizona, which is located just outside Kingman, Arizona. Unfortunately, due to the distance between Gallup and Golden Valley, the truck can’t quite make it on a full tank. One of the largest drawbacks we’re finding with the truck is its small 31 gallon gas tank. We’ve been averaging approximately 10-11 MPG while pulling our RV which puts our range around 250-300 miles between fill ups. We chose Flagstaff, Arizona as our refuel point as it is half way between Gallup and Golden Valley. Flagstaff had a bit of snow on the ground, but we were expecting that due to it being 6,900 ft in elevation. After filling up, we found a place to stop and let Ramsey enjoy the beautiful scenery. Ramsey wasn’t to impressed with the snowman we found, or the cold snow he had to walk on.
We finally made it to WARM WEATHER! Golden Valley welcomed us with a lovely 62 degrees and no wind. We will stay in Golden Valley for two nights in order to do laundry and fill our tanks with fresh water in preparation for the Xscapers Bash. We are staying at the Tradewinds RV Park. After taking a look around, we absolutely love this park. Its a bit quirky in a good way. They have old Tractors and antique farm equipment spread throughout the park which is pretty neat to look at. The laundry room is also huge and cheaper that most of the RV parks we’ve come across. During check in, the park provided us with a calendar of daily events. With our Passport America membership full hookup sites run $17.50 per night instead of the normal $35 per night.
