✅ A Bucket List Event!
🦓 Zebras—or the “Zebra Crew”—play a crucial role in overseeing the launch process. Dressed in their distinctive black and white striped attire, they are easily recognizable on the launch field. The Zebras are responsible for coordinating balloon launches, managing safety protocols, and assisting balloonists with their preparations. Their expertise helps to create a seamless experience for both participants and spectators. As part of this iconic event, the Zebras’ involvement highlights the importance of teamwork and safety in creating a memorable atmosphere at the Balloon Fiesta. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a seasoned attendee, the presence of the Zebras adds a unique and memorable element to this celebrated tradition.
🌙 Dawn Patrol was one of our favorite events at the fiesta. The hot air balloons take off approximately one hour before sunrise, and fly in the dark.

✅A Bucket List Must!
☀ Weather: Although Albuquerque’s weather is mild and sunny during the Balloon Fiesta, balloons don’t fly in inclement weather. This is why you should planned to be at the Fiesta for two days or more.
🚶It is best to dress in layers and to bring a jacket. The Balloon Fiesta Park consists of more than 360 acres and the launch field is more than 60 acres. In general, dress comfortably and make sure to wear shoes that won’t bother you as you walk the Fiesta grounds.
😎 Wear plenty of sunscreen, and sunglasses after daybreak to reduce glare.
⚠️Precautions Around Balloons - Be Respectful
The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is one of the only balloon events where people can walk around the balloons and talk to the pilots as they are inflating. Please do not touch them or step on or over any of them and, always follow the directions of the pilots, crews, and Launch Directors, known locally as Zebras, identified by their black and white striped shirts.

✅A Bucket List Must!
🚐If you plan on staying in an RV while attending the Balloon Fiesta, know that sites sell out the day they are released and sell out very fast.
🥲We tried getting a RV site at the Balloon Fiesta and were not able to.
🚌Where did we stay?
Bernalillo County Sheriffs Posse (Very similar to staying at a fairgrounds)
✨They offer dry camping, premium sites with water & electric and x-large premium sites that are water & electric.
Pros:
• Closest RV place to stay if not staying onsite at the Balloon Fiesta.
• Dump station is available on-site
• Bathrooms onsite (no showers)
• Sites are fairly close together but lots of room to park in front of your RV especially if you have an extra vehicle.
• Balloons can land in the open areas.
🌟 This is where a lot of the balloon pilots that have RVs stay. A lot of them have trailers and this place gives them room to park. It was actually really neat staying next to the pilots and learning about ballooning.

Cons
• You can either drive or ride your bike to the Fiesta. If you drive, add extra time because there is a lot of traffic in the morning. We rode our bikes which was about 2.5 miles 1 way.

👫 The 52nd Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (2024) hosted an estimated 838,377 guest visits! There were 551 registered hot air balloons, 106 of those special shapes balloons, and 77 remote-control balloons.
☀️ The weather was amazing in 2024. There were no cancelations or rainchecks and all 14 sessions occurred.
🎉 Opening Ceremonies: We highly recommend attending the opening ceremonies.
🩷 Events:
✨ Dawn Patrol: expert balloon pilots take off before sunrise and fly until it is light enough to see the landing sites.
✨ Mass Ascension: the most popular of all events, all participating balloons launch in two waves to fill the sky! The first wave usually coincides with the sunrise at 7am to create a truly magical moment.
✨ Special Shape Rodeo: as the name suggests, this event is for all the non-traditional, uniquely shaped balloons to take flight.
✨ Balloon Glows: held at night, balloons stay grounded but are illuminated by their propane burners.

👀 He traveled 8,500 miles.
🐾 Ramsey explored 11 states (Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, and Tennessee.)
🐿 Highlights include chasing Squirrels, Birds Chickens and Iguanas.
🌞 Ramsey is truly not a fan of cold weather. We can't get him to go outside when it's cold. Florida is his favorite state where he can bask in the sun and take catnaps on picnic tables.

🚐 2024 was a very busy year. We drove over 8,500 miles with our RV. 🚗 Even more if you count all the miles we put on our car exploring.
🚶We hiked over 270 miles (which is the width of Utah)
👀 We explored 11 states.
🫶 Highlights were visiting: Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, driving the Beartooth Highway and attending the 52nd Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
💦 We visited 5 different hot springs. Bozeman Hot Springs (Montana) and Riverbend Hot Springs (New Mexico) were our favorites.
🌴Starting and ending our year in Florida is always at the top of our list. Wintering in Florida and experiencing as many beach days as possible is always our goal. We are not fans of cold weather.
🫶 We want to thank each and every one of you for following our adventures. Thanks for liking and commentating on our posts. It means the world to us!!
👍One of our favorite things about traveling in our RV full-time is spending more time out in nature and exploring new places.
💙 We choose experiences over things!

❓ Where is the litter box?
🚽 We trained Ramsey to use the toilet when he was just a kitten. We used CitiKitty Cat Toilet Training Kit, which is a way to transition your cat from the litter box to the toilet. @citikitty
🚐 On travel days, Ramsey uses a litter box so we don't have to stop when he needs to go to the bathroom.
💩 Along with being toilet trained and using a litter box on travel days, he also goes to the bathroom outside.
✨Step 1: Place CitiKitty on the rim under the seat. CitiKitty is designed to fit all sizes and shapes of toilets.
✨Step 2: Fill CitiKitty with Flushable Litter
✨Step 3: Remove One Ring at a Time. Remove 1 ring weekly (rings are perforated for fast removal). Your furry friend will slowly get comfortable with perching on the toilet seat and aiming for the water - as they do, wean them off the litter.
✨Step 4: Toss The Litter Box. Sure, you may still have to flush, but toilet training is a lasting habit that ends the need to buy litter, scoop litter or smell litter.
👍Tip: If you want to train your cat to use the toilet, make sure to use flushable litter. Be sure to go at your cat's own pace for results that last.

☀️ Ramsey is loving the weather in Florida. He is not a fan of cold weather so he's been basking in the Florida sun.
📦 Boxes, Boxes, Boxes...Like most cats, Ramsey loves to play in boxes. We have to sneak boxes out of the RV to throw them away, otherwise he get a little cranky.

✅ Save this popular hike in Little Cottonwood Canyon area near Salt Lake City, UT.
🚶 2.5 mile loop trail with 629 ft. elevation gain rated as moderate.
✨ Willow Lake is a great short trail within Big Cottonwood Canyon. It takes you through an aspen forest to a small lake with beautiful views of the ridgeline between Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. After climbing up through the trees, the trail comes to a wide open field. There are panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding landscape.
🗻 The aspen trees during the fall are absolutely stunning.
👀 We saw a few ducks on the lake and even a few deer running along the trail.
👍 Tip: Save this stunning hike for the Fall. This is a shorter trail so we combined it with hiking Lake Mary.
