Traveling to Xscapers Bash (Day 5) Tradewinds RV Park

Monolith Garden Loop Trail Kingman Arizona

The 2019 Xscapers Bash is fast approaching.  We scheduled an extra day at the Tradewinds RV Park in Golden Valley, Arizona in order to get prepared for the bash.  The event is scheduled for 9 days of pure boondocking (dry camping) and it will mark the first time we’ve ever boondocked in our RV.  We have plenty of water storage (100 gallons), 640 amp hours of battery life, and a generator to make sure the batteries stay fully charged.

To be prepared for the bash, we took our extra day to wash clothes and clean out the vehicles. We also do as much meal prep as possible.  Having simple foods that can be reheated saves on time, battery life, and per RaeLynn, less dirty dishes to clean.

We finished most of our chores early in the afternoon and couldn’t resist the 65 degree sunny weather.  We decided it was time pull the bikes off the carrier and test out some trails.  Luckily for us, there were several trails right next to the RV park. Nothing overly extreme for a couple of novices like us, but we did get the opportunity to verify our shocks are in fact functional!

Later in the afternoon we drove into Kingman, AZ to restock on groceries. On the way there, we happened to drive by the Monolith Garden Loop Trail.  The trail is 8.3 miles in length, and offers beautiful desert scenery worthy of a postcard.
